    • PURPOSE: An electronically controlled-suspension having fail-safe function and a method for controlling thereof are provided to improve the ride comfort and control stability of a vehicle by regularly maintaining the height of a vehicle using the damping controller. CONSTITUTION: An electronically controlled-suspension having fail-safe function comprises an AS-valve control unit(40), a garage controller(10), a damping controller(20), and a switching unit(30). The AS-valve control unit controls an air spring valve(50). The damping controller controls an amount of the current flowing in the damper and controls the damping power. The alternating signal is outputted when case the order signal is inputted from the garage controller. The damping controller outputs the control signal of the air spring valve for controlling the height of a vehicle with the garage signal to the AS-valve control unit. The switch part selectively transmits the control signal of the air spring valve to the AS-valve control unit.

    • PURPOSE: A semi-active suspension system and a control method using the fluid pressure of a hydraulic cylinder are provided to reduce manufacturing costs and to improve ride comfort by mounting an oil pressure sensor on a hydraulic cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A semi-active suspension system using fluid pressure of a hydraulic cylinder(145) comprises hydraulic sensors(340,350), a suspension control unit(250), and a movable damper(260). The hydraulic sensor is respectively installed in feed tubes(110,117) supplying the working fluid to the left or the right side of pressure chambers(310,320). The suspension control unit compares the pressure of the hydraulic sensors and offers the control commander value by producing an objective decreased force. The variable damper controls the decreased force by an actuator according to the control commander value.

    • A suspension of a vehicle with a leaf spring allows the driver to control riding comfort by adjusting the length of a helper spring contacting a stopper to change the spring constant when loads are loaded over the contact point of the helper spring. A suspension of a vehicle with a leaf spring comprises a main spring installed under a frame(32), a helper spring(31) joined to the main spring, and an interval adjuster for supporting the helper spring, which is installed underneath the frame to contact both ends of the helper spring and movable in the horizontal direction. The interval adjuster comprises a hydraulic cylinder(37) installed underneath the frame, an ECU(44) supplying the hydraulic cylinder through a flow control valve(45) to control fluid pressure, a roller support(40) moving with the fluid pressure supplied from the hydraulic cylinder, a first roller(38) combined to the top and bottom of the roller support with a roller pin(41) and moving in the horizontal direction along the frame, and a second roller(39) contacting both ends of the helper spring.
