    • The circuit described for processing the signals from a yaw-rate sensor (11) is intended particularly for controlling the stability of a motor vehicle (1). The circuit has a control unit (18) to which are fed the signals from the yaw-rate sensor (11) as well as those from other sensors (4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12 and 13) which measure travel-condition-dependent parameters such as wheel rpm, steering-wheel angle, lateral acceleration and longitudinal acceleration. The control unit (18) computes from the inputs from one or more of these other sensors a reference yaw rate and compares it with the rate measured by the yaw-rate sensor (11). In addition, the plausibility of the yaw-rate sensor signal is checked, taking into consideration the vehicle travel condition. If the difference between the two yaw rates is greater than a given threshold value, the signal from the yaw-rate sensor (11) is rejected as faulty on the basis of the plausibility check.

    • The control (1) may be used in particular to control an automatic vehicle gearbox. The control (1) contains an evaluation circuit (14) in which an action signal generated by a manual action by the driver is assessed and then one of the predetermined relations is altered by the transmission of an assessment signal EBS. Here it is possible to switch off partial functions of the control (1) or modify important stored parameters of partial functions without putting it completely out of action.
