    • The present invention relates to a method for improving performance of a motor vehicle (100) comprising an engine(230) and a gear box (240) with an input shaft (236), a main shaft (237) and at least one lay shaft (320), where in operational power is arranged to be transmitted to the input shaft (236) of the gear box, where in operational power in a first split gear (SL) is arranged to be transmitted from the input shaft (236) to the lay shaft (320). The operational power in a second split gear (SH) is arranged to be transmitted to lay shaft (320) via the main shaft (237), where in the operational power in a third neutral split gear (SN) is not transmitted to the lay shaft (320) or the main shaft (237).     • The present invention relates to a method to control a hybrid powertrain (2), comprising a combustion engine (3), an electric machine (4), a gearbox (6) with an input shaft (10) and an output shaft (18), wherein the combustion engine (3) and the electric machine (4) are connected to the input shaft (10). The method comprises the following steps: a) disconnecting the combustion engine (3) from the input shaft (10) with a coupling device (12), b) engaging a starting gear in the gearbox (6), which starting gear is higher than the gear at which the combustion engine's (3) torque at idling speed is able to operate the input shaft (10), c) generating a torque in the input shaft with the electric machine (4), d) accelerating the electric machine (4), and e) connecting the combustion engine (3) to the input shaft (10) with the coupling device (12) when the electric machine (4) has reached substantially the same rotational speed as the combustion engine (3). The invention also relates to a hybrid powertrain (2) and a vehicle (1).
