    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber laser device, wherein the output of a laser beam at a time other than the time when the laser beam is output can be suppressed while the start-up time for the laser beam to be emitted is reduced.SOLUTION: The fiber laser device 100 includes a seed laser beam source 10, an excitation light source 20, an optical fiber 30 for amplification, a wavelength converter 71, a wavelength selection filter 73, an output portion 50, and a control portion 60. The control portion 60 controls the seed laser beam source 10 and the excitation light source 20 in order to switch from a preparatory excitation state to an output state. In the preparatory excitation state, a laser beam is not output from the seed laser beam source 10, and excitation light is output from the excitation light source 10. The excitation light is set at an intensity at which the wavelength of a laser beam generated in and output from the optical fiber 30 for amplification is not converted by the wavelength converter 71. In the output state, a laser beam is output from the seed laser beam source 10, and the excitation light is output from the excitation light source 20. The laser beam and the excitation light are set at an intensity at which the wavelength of a laser beam amplified in and output from the optical fiber 30 for amplification is converted by the wavelength converter 71.
