    • An skirt having an upper portion and a lower portion covers at least components of a suspension of an active suspension seat, wherein the upper portion is coupled to an upper frame of the suspension and includes at least an upper front portion having a curved cross-section, and wherein the lower portion is coupled to a lower frame of the suspension and includes a lower front portion that has an upper edge and that has either a curved or L-shape cross-section. The suspension causes the upper frame to move in a curvilinear manner relative to the lower frame as a result of providing active suspension, and a concave face of the upper front portion is positioned inwardly towards the suspension relative to the upper edge of the lower front portion and is positioned such that the predetermined size of a gap between the upper edge of the lower front portion and the concave face of the upper front is maintained as the upper front portion is caused to move with the upper frame in a curvilinear motion relative to the lower front portion. An active suspension seat is mounted to a floor of a vehicle with a floor plate having a lower portion through which is formed a first plurality of apertures positioned about the lower portion to correspond to the manner in which mounting features are positioned about the floor of the vehicle, and having an upper portion through which is formed a second plurality of apertures positioned about the upper portion to correspond to the manner in which apertures are positioned about a lower frame of the active suspension seat, and to enable the active suspension seat to be coupled to the floor plate by inserting fasteners through the second plurality of apertures from locations external to the lower frame.

    • A powered automotive seat. The powered automotive seat includes an upper seat frame and a lower seat frame. The upper seat frame is attached to the lower seat frame. The lower seat frame is attached to a suspension base assembly. The suspension base assembly includes a lower base mountable on the floor of an automotive vehicle, an upper base capable of receiving the lower seat frame and a pair of base arms attaching the upper base to the lower base. An air spring is attached between the upper base and the lower base. An air spring is attached between the upper base and the lower base. An automatic control unit selectively decreases and increases air pressure in the air spring.     • An adjustable seat suspension, particularly suitable for a vehicle seat, includes a linkage assembly to maintain parallel motion between the seat and a support frame, as well as a suspension mechanism for controlling the motion of the seat relative to the support frame. The linkage assembly consists of three parallel link arms, each pivotally connected at its ends to the seat frame and support frame respectively. Each pivotal connection includes a self-aligning bearing. The suspension mechanism includes a spring and a damping member connected to a link arm, as well as an adjustment mechanism for selectively varying the distance between the suspension mechanism and the pivot axis of the link arm, to thereby vary the suspension characteristics of the seat.
