摘要： Various approaches for microbubble-enhanced ultrasound treatment of target tissue include retrieving a treatment plan stored in memory; causing administration of an exogenous agent in accordance with the treatment plan; causing, in accordance with the treatment plan, an ultrasound transducer to transmit ultrasound waves to the target tissue and generate a focus therein in the presence of administered exogenous agent; receiving, from a monitoring system, a measured parameter value indicating a treatment condition in response to administration of the exogenous agent and transmission of the ultrasound waves during treatment; and adjusting the treatment plan based at least in part on the measured parameter value.

A first head position sensor is configured to be secured in a first fixed location on or in a patient's head and generate a first head position signal. Field generating elements are configured to generate an electromagnetic field around the patient's head. A processor processes the instrument position signal to determine positioning of the patient's instrument within the electromagnetic field. The processor also processes the first head position signal to determine positioning of the patient's head within the electromagnetic field. The processor determines the position of the instrument within the patient's head based on the determined position of the patient's instrument within the electromagnetic field and based further on the determined position of the patient's head within the electromagnetic field.

摘要： Apparatus and methods are described including an endoluminal device (26) configured to move along a portion of a lumen of a subject's body, an extraluminal imaging device (20), and at least one computer processor (28). While the endoluminal device moves along the portion of the lumen, a display (40) displays an extraluminal image of the lumen in which a first indication of a location of the lumen is shown. The extraluminal imaging device acquires a sequence of extraluminal images of the endoluminal device moving along the portion of the lumen. The indication of the location of the lumen that is displayed is updated based upon the acquired sequence of extraluminal images, and the acquired sequence of images is displayed with the updated indication of the location of the lumen overlaid upon the images. Other applications are also described.

摘要： An Imaging, guidance, planning and treatment system integrated into a single unit or assembly of components, and a method for using same, that can be safely and effectively deployed to treat re-stenosis from m intra- vascular location in various medical settings, including in a hospital or in an outpatient setting. The system utilizes the novel process of Radio-Frequency Electrical Membrane Breakdown ("EMB" or "RFEMB") to destroy the cellular membranes of unwanted tissue without denaturing the intra-cellular contents of the cells comprising the tissue, thus preventing or alleviating re-stenosis after an angioplasty-type procedure. The system preferably comprises at least one EMB treatment catheter-type probe 20, at least one temperature sensor 7, and at least one controller unit for at least partially automating the treatment process.
