    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR device for reducing intrusion into an intake system of foreign matter included in exhaust gas. SOLUTION: A collecting part 80 is arranged in a low pressure EGR part 70. The foreign matter included in low pressure EGR gas recirculated to an intake passage 23 from an exhaust passage 33, is collected by the collecting part 80. When the foreign matter is generated on the downstream side of a combustion chamber 14 by damage of a supercharger 40 or an exhaust emission control part 50, the generated foreign matter is collected in the collecting part 80. Thus, when recirculating the low pressure EGR gas to the intake passage 23 via the low pressure EGR part 70, intrusion into the intake passage 23 of the foreign matter generated on the downstream side of the combustion chamber 14 is reduced.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharger failure diagnosis device for an internal combustion engine for improving the accuracy of diagnosing a failure of one of primary and secondary side superchargers independently of the passage construction of primary and secondary side intake air passages. SOLUTION: Primary and secondary side air flow meters 55, 56 are provided in primary and secondary side branch intake passages for measuring an intake air amount on the primary and secondary sides. An intake air amount difference computing part 58 of an electronic control device 57 computes an intake air amount difference in accordance with these measured values. When a computed value for the intake air amount difference is determined to be greater than a single side abnormality determined value preset for a recording medium by a determination computing part 59, an abnormality detection signal is output from a failure information part 60 and an accelerator opening is automatically set to be small. The intake air amount difference is computed instead of a pressure difference between the primary and secondary side intake air passages, thus improving the accuracy of detecting a failure of a supercharger independently of the passage construction of the intake air passages.
