    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unburnt discharge such as HC immediately after engine start by promoting atomization of fuel by heating fuel even immediately after starting after completion of warming up and when an engine is cold. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an EGR passage 21a composed in such a way that exhaust gas is circulated from an exhaust passage 17 to an intake passage 15, a common rail 32 composed in such a way that high pressure fuel compressed and supplied from a fuel injection pump 33 is pressure-accumulated, and a plurality of injectors 31 to inject fuel pressure-accumulated in the common rail 32 into a plurality of cylinders. It is also provided with a heating exhaust gas passage 51 to send part of exhaust gas circulated through the EGR passage 21a toward around the common rail 32 to heat the high pressure fuel, a flow regulation valve 52 to regulate the flow of exhaust gas flowing in it, a temperature sensor 53 to detect the temperature of high pressure fuel pressure-accumulated in the common rail 32, and a controller 24 to control the flow regulating valve 52 based on detection output of the temperature sensor 53.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote atomization of fuel, and reduce unburnt discharge such as HC immediately after engine start by heating fuel even immediately after starting at completion of warming up and in a cold mode of an engine.
      SOLUTION: This fuel supply device for a diesel engine is provided with a plurality of injection nozzles 6 inserted at one end to cylinder heads 4 in respective cylinders, and covered at the other end with a cylinder head cover 5, and a common rail 3 connected to a fuel injection pump 2 through a first fuel pipe 7, composed in such a way that high pressure fuel compressed and supplied from the fuel injection pump 2 can be stored, and connected through a second fuel pipe 8 to each of the injection nozzles 6. The common rail 3 is coated with heat insulation material 21 to prevent heat due to compression of high pressure fuel from being radiated to the external. The common rail 3 is contained in the cylinder head cover 5, and the heat insulation material 21 comprises unwoven fabric comprising glass wool, ceramic wool, or carbon nanotubes.

    • PURPOSE:To promote mixture of air and fuel by a method wherein a re-entrant ring serving as a squish guard is protruded from the under surface of a cylinder head in a state to surround a fuel injection nozzle therewith and a compression flow is forced into collision with fuel spray through the gap of a cavity. CONSTITUTION:A re-entrant ring 2 is protruded from the under surface of a cylinder head 1 in a state to surround a fuel injection nozzle 3 therewith. A gap 7 is provided between the lip part 6 of a cavity 5 formed in the top surface of a piston 4 and the outer surface of the re-entrant ring 2. In which case, when the piston 4 is raised to a top dead center, a squish flow F1 is caused to flow through the gap 7 and injected in the cavity 5. The injection of the squish flow causes joining together of the squish flow F1 and a swirl flow F2 to promote a turbulence, improves mixture of it with fuel spray injected through the fuel injection nozzle 3 and in turn also causes improvement of NOx in exhaust gas.

    • PURPOSE:To enable high pressure injection without increasing a fuel injection pump side pressure by incorporating a constant residual pressure valve into a delivery valve of a fuel injection pump, and constituting an injection pipe of a taper pipe whose nozzle side is narrower than the other side. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection nozzle 20 is connected to a pump unit 26 corresponding to a fuel injection pump 25 by means of a injection pipe 24. The fuel injection pump 25 is provided with a mechanical governor 27, and a control rack 28 is moved thereby, so that a supply quantity of fuel injected at one time is adjusted. In this fuel injection pump 25, a constant residual pressure valve 68 is incorporated particularly into a delivery valve 64 of the fuel injection pump 25, and the injection pipe 24 is also constituted of a taper pipe whose nozzle side is narrower than the other side. Thereby, high pressure injection can be attained without increasing lift of a cam 30 of the fuel injection pump 25.

CONSTITUTION:A booster pump 40 is provided other than a fuel injection pump 11 to an engine, and the pump units of the booster pump 40 are connected to the fuel injection nozzles 16 of cylinders through injection pipes 44. The fuel injection nozzles 16 are connected to the booster pump 40 through the injection pipes 44 by joints 45 installed to connections 29, and in the cylinders 48 formed at the inner side of the joints 45, booster pistons 49 are provided slidable. Each booster piston 49 furnishes a planger 50 with the diameter smaller than the diameter of the piston 49 at the front end side, and by applying a pressure to the fuel in a fuel passage 31 by the planger 50, the pressure of the fuel is raised.
