    • A torque assist system (100) mounted on an input shaft (1) of a vehicle transmission, comprising: a torque assist shaft (120) connected to the input shaft (1) through a first terminating part thereof, the torque assist shaft (120) including an outer shaft and an inner shaft which rotates independently from the outer shaft, a portion of the inner shaft being extended out of the outer shaft; a planetary gear set (110) mounted on the inner shaft exposed to a second terminating part of the torque assist shaft (120); a clutch (140) disposed adjacent to the planetary gear set (110) and operated by an external force; and an input gear (150) mounted on the exposed inner shaft of the torque assist shaft (120) and connected to the planetary gear set (110) by the clutch (140) to transmit power to an output gear (160) mounted on the output shaft (2) of the vehicle transmission, wherein even in a state in which the outer shaft does not rotate during shifting, the inner shaft rotates to transmit a driving force to the output shaft through the planetary gear set (110) and the input gear (150).

    • The manual transmission of this apparatus includes an input shaft Ai to which power is input from an internal combustion engine E/G through a clutch C/T and an output shaft Ao from which power is output to drive wheels. This transmission has a plurality of EV travel gear stages (EV, EV-R) (different from the neutral) in which no power transmission system is established between the input shaft Ai and the output shaft Ao, and a plurality of HV travel gear stages (2-nd to 5-th) in which a power transmission system is established between the input shaft Ai and the output shaft Ao. This transmission has a connection changeover mechanism M2 which establishes and breaks connection between the output shaft Am of the electric motor M/G and the output shaft Ao. When an EV travel gear stage is selected, a "connected state" is always realized. When an HV travel gear stage is selected, a "disconnected state" is realized in some cases. Thus, in a manual transmission for an HV-MT vehicle which has "HV travel gear stages" and "EV travel gear stages," occurrence of a situation in which the temperature of the electric motor becomes excessively high can be restrained.
