    • A rotary seal arrangement has a rotatable component (2) supported within a machine component (3), the machine component (3) forming a housing structure for a sealing means (23) which acts to seal off a high-pressure area (10) between the components (2,3) to allow the passage of high pressure fluid therebetween. The seal arrangement includes a holding element (30) for mounting in the machine component (3) to support spaced sealing members (23) therein to define said high pressure area (10) therebetween. The arrangement is particularly suitable for use where the rotatable component (2) is formed as a rotatable shaft and the holding element (30) and sealing members (23) are arranged around the shaft such as, for example, in a vehicle tyre pressure changing system for use on an agricultural tractor. The spaced sealing members (23) are provided with support elements (20) which extend generally radially relative to the rotatable component (2) to provide support for the sealing members (23) against the high pressure fluid, the holding element (30) and support elements (20) forming a cartridge like arrangement which encloses the sealing members (23).

The groundspeed PTO shaft arrangement has a groundspeed PTO shaft device with a differential gear (222). The differential gear contains an input shaft (221) which is coupled to a gear (212). A right wheel output shaft (232) is coupled to an end drive (233) of a right wheel (234) and driven via the input shaft (221); a left wheel output shaft (239) is coupled to an end drive of a left wheel and is driven via the input shaft (221). Provided in this case is a first PTO shaft (236) which issues from the differential gear (222) relative to the input shaft (221), is driven by the input shaft (221) and is coupled to the right or left wheel output shaft (232, 239).

    • An exhaust system for a vehicle having a cab (53) and an internal combustion engine (1) located in an engine compartment (51). The system includes an exhaust gas treatment unit (9) located outside the engine compartment and having an inlet (9a) which receives exhaust gases from the engine and an outlet (9e) which passes treated gases into a final portion (E) of the exhaust system. The treatment unit (9) is arranged to extend generally vertically with the outlet (9e) generally vertically above the inlet (9a) and adjacent a corner post (52) of the cab of the vehicle to reduce impact on the visibility from the cab. A cage (C) surrounds the exhaust gas treatment unit (9) and has a support means (12) for attachment to a chassis of the vehicle and an outlet (15e) which the outlet (9e) of the treatment unit is connected. The final portion (E) of the exhaust system is connected with and supported from the cage outlet (15e) to relieve the treatment unit (9) from supporting the weight of the final portion of the exhaust system.
