Durch den Einsatz eines pyrotechnischen Gasgenerators kann einfach, zuverlässig und ökonomisch und mit einer hohen Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit die zum Abbremsen der Schwungmasse erforderliche Gasatmosphäre in dem Gehäuse mit dem Schwungmassenspeicher erzeugt werden. Darüber hinaus benötigt die pyrotechnische Treibladung im Regelbetrieb keine oder nur wenig Energie und ist nahezu wartungsfrei.
