    • PURPOSE: A driver knee protection device is provided to maintain proper rigidity and shock absorption capacity at early and late stages of a collision by installing easily transformable frame in buffering member. CONSTITUTION: A driver knee protection device comprises first and second brackets(200,300) and a buffering member(400). The first bracket is arranged in a cowl cross bar(100). The lower part of the second bracket is coupled to the lower part of the first bracket and the upper part of the second bracket is separated from the first bracket. The buffering member is arranged in a space between the first and second brackets.

    • PURPOSE: A brake pedal of a vehicle is provided to prevent a driver from being injured, and to protect the ankle, the knee and the leg of the driver safely by supporting the foot of the driver with drawing an auxiliary plate of an ankle protector out of a plate member at a collision. CONSTITUTION: An ankle protecting apparatus(40) of a brake pedal is installed in the rear part of a plate member(11). The ankle protecting apparatus is composed of a housing(41) fixed in the rear part of the plate member; an inflator installed in the housing, and controlled by an electronic control unit(30); a connecting bar(43) combined with the housing, and arranged longitudinally in exploding the inflator; an auxiliary plate(44) supporting the foot of the driver by protruding in deploying the connecting bar; and a switch sensor(45) installed between the plate member and a cover member(12) to detect the position of the foot. The ankle of the driver is protected by supporting the foot with drawing the auxiliary plate out of the plate member at a collision in braking.
