摘要： A suspension system for use between a cab (16) and a truck frame (18, 20), includes a strut module having a strut (52, 54) and an air spring (100), and a control module (68), connected to a source of pressurized air, for sensing a distance between the cab (16) and truck frame (18, 20) and selectively pressurizing the air spring in response to changes in that distance. Preferably, the strut (52, 54) is a McPherson strut and the air spring (100) encloses at least a portion of the strut () to provide a compact assembly and includes a three point connection to the cab (16) and frame (18, 20) to resist relative lateral movement between the cab (16) and frame (18, 20). The strut (52, 54) also preferably is a magnetorhealogical damper so that the control module can adjust the damping characteristics of the strut to optimize rider comfort.

摘要： The invention relates to a pneumatic system for a motor vehicle, said pneumatic system comprising a compressor unit, an accumulator unit and switch valves, via which the individual springs of the individual vehicle wheels are provided with pressurized air. A vent line is provided in the zone between the compressor unit and the switch valves. Said vent line opens into the atmosphere and can be blocked or released by a stop valve. The inventive system is further provided with devices that are used to limit the air mass flow discharged via the released vent line in certain intervals vis-à-vis an unlimited state in order to prevent undesired noises caused by the venting of the system. For example, a separately blockable high-pressure vent line can be connected parallel to a separately blockable main vent line, the free effective area of flow of the high-pressure vent line being smaller than that of the main vent line. Alternatively, a throttle element can be mounted in the vent line to limit the free effective area of flow of the vent line.

摘要： A proportional load transfer valve (54) is disclosed to shift a predetermined ratio of approximately fifty percent (50%) of the weight on a tag axle (12) to the drive axle (10). The load transfer valve acts in response to a pneumatic signal indicative of a traction event. The valve alters the ratio of supply port (82) pressure associated with the air suspension bags (14) of the drive axle that is forwarded to the delivery port (84) associated with the air bag suspension assembly (16) of the tag axle. As the weight imposed on the drive axle approaches a predetermined maximum, the load transfer valve transfers less weight so that the drive axle is not overloaded.
