    • PURPOSE: A cooling system for forced air-cooling engine is provided to improve cooling efficiency of CVT(continuously variable transmission) by preventing the cooling hose from being heated. CONSTITUTION: A cooling system comprises a shroud(3) which covers a cylinder(1'), a cylinder head(1'') and a cooling fan(2); a cooling hose(6) installed at an air inlet port(5) of a crank case cover(4) in such a manner as to face an outlet hole(3') of the shroud; and an air guide plate(20) installed at the front surface of the outlet hole of the shroud with a determined spacing interposed between the outlet and the air guide plate. the air guide plate directs the hot air flowing from the outlet hole of the shroud toward the cooling hose, to flow in vertical direction, thus preventing the hot air from contacting the cooling hose. As a consequence, in-advance prevention against heating of the cooling hose can be obtained.

    • The invention provides an engine stoppage/start-up control system permitting automatic start-up of the engine under a condition in which a driver is in the seating state, which disables the automatic stopping function of the engine if the seating state of the driver cannot be detected. To achieve this, under the "engine-starting and idle SW mode", the ignition control is usually permitted. Under the "engine-stopping and vehicle-starting mode", when the vehicle is stopped and the engine is automatically stopped, the ignition control is permitted under a condition that the driver is in the seating state and the throttle is opened, or the vehicular speed is larger than zero. When the vehicle in the running state is stopped, if the seating state of the driver is detected, the ignition control is prohibited and thereby the engine is automatically stopped; however, if the seating state of the driver is not detected, the ignition control is not prohibited, but permitting idling upon stoppage of the vehicle, thereby eliminating the start-up of the engine upon start-up of the vehicle.
