    • PURPOSE: A single plate arm for a suspension is provided to guarantee optical strength of an arm in contradiction to weight because a connecting section between an arm body and the reinforcement member is formed in H-beam shape. CONSTITUTION: A single plate arm for a suspension(100) comprises an arm body(10) and a reinforcement member(50). The arm body is made of single plate press type and downward bent shape to secure gap between the body and other compartment. The reinforcement member is mounted on the lower part of the arm body in order to reinforce strength of the arm body. The coupling section of the arm body and the reinforcement member is formed in H-beam shape.

    • PURPOSE: A rear suspension system is provided to induce a toe-in at a braking and a rotation and to secure the horizontal strength by improving the structure. CONSTITUTION: A lower arm(10) is installed in a rear wheel(12) of a vehicle. A combining portion(11) is protruded and a first groove portion(13) is formed in the lower arm. A mounting rod(20) is hinged with the combining portion of the lower arm and a second groove portion(21) is formed in the mounting rod. A lever member(30) is combined with a chassis near the lower arm to be rotatable and hung in the first groove portion and the second groove portion. The one end of a wheel connecting member is connected with the lower arm and the other end of the wheel connecting member is connected with the mounting rod. The wheel connecting member is combined with the rear wheel. Thereby, the braking stability and the swiveling stability are improved by inducing a toe-in and the horizontal strength is secured.

    • A suspension system for a vehicle includes a longitudinally extending frame, an axle (44) connected to the frame for relative movement with respect thereto, an air spring (38) mounted between the frame and the axle to yieldably support the axle with respect to the frame, and upper (22) and lower (24) trailing arms attached to each side of the frame. A first torsion bar (58) extends between and is rigidly attached to the upper trailing arms and a second torsion bar (60) extends between and is rigidly attached to the lower trailing arms. The torsion bar cooperates with the springs during deflection of the suspension system with respect to the frame to thereby yieldably resist relative movement between the trailing arms and the frame. In one embodiment, the upper and lower trailing arms are parallel to each other. This arrangement results in load equalization between the suspension assemblies. Any relative torque caused by deflection of the trailing arms is equally distributed between both torque bars. In another embodiment, the upper (63) and lower (64) trailing arms are non-parallel, and arranged such that when the trailing arms pivot due to road conditions or vehicle loading, fore and aft movement of the air spring and axle due to arcuate swing of the trailing arms is minimized.
