    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable braking gaps between friction pads and a disk rotor to be corrected to a reference value dimension by easily checking visually from outside a caliper body that the braking gaps between the friction pads and the disk rotor are expanded wider than a predetermined dimension.SOLUTION: A mechanical arresting disk brake includes: an adjusting mechanism 10, which makes the braking gaps 7, 8 between the side faces of the disk rotor 4 and the friction pads 5, 6 adjustable by rotating an adjusting bolt 3 attached to the caliper body 1; a mechanical arresting lever 18 for rotating the adjusting bolt 3; and a mechanical arresting mechanism, which is braked when pulling the mechanical arresting lever 18, wherein indicator mechanisms, by which it can be determined that the braking gaps between the disk rotor and the friction pads are expanded wider than the predetermined dimension, are provided on the caliper body 1 and the mechanical arresting lever 18.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the adjustment of a brake gap in a brake system for a hoisting machine that generates a braking force for a hoisting machine of an elevator.SOLUTION: The brake system for the hoisting machine includes a brake disk 10, a brake pad 20, a drive section 3, a controller 2, an interval adjusting member 4, and a buffer 5A. The brake disk 10 rotates together with the rotation of a drive shaft 101a of an electric motor 101. The brake pad 20 can stop the brake disk 10 when its plane part is in abutting contact with a plane part of the brake disk 10. While the drive section 3 causes the brake pad 20 to be engaged with the brake disk 10 so that the respective plane parts are brought into abut-contact with each other, it moves the brake pad 20 away from the brake disk 10. The controller 2 controls the operation of the brake pad 20 by the drive section 3. The interval adjusting member 4 moves the brake pad 20 to the engagement direction and the moving-away direction in a state that its tip is in abut-contact with the back side of the brake pad 20, and adjusts the interval of the respective plane parts. The buffer section 5A is provided at the tip of the interval adjusting member 4.
