    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly practical vehicular electromagnetic absorber.
      SOLUTION: The electromagnetic absorber 10 comprises a screw rod 70 supported at one end on an unsprung side member 60, and a nut cylinder 76 fixing and holding a nut 72 threaded to the screw rod, and supported on a sprung side member 62 in the condition of inserting the other end of the screw rod into its inside space. Force generated by an electromagnetic motor 64 imparts rotating force to the nut cylinder to generate damping force on relative operation between a sprung part and an unsprung part. In the rotatable nut cylinder, a communication passage 120 is provided for communication the inside space of the nut cylinder where the upper end of the screw rod is moved forward and backward with the relative operation between the sprung part and the unsprung part, with the outside of the nut cylinder. This construction effectively reduces the influences of a pressure fluctuation of air in the inside space of the nut cylinder, which is produced by the relative operation between the sprung part and the unsprung part when the communication passage itself is rotated.
