    • PURPOSE:To improve heat radiation performance by connecting a cover plate onto a brake drum in watertight form and fixing a brake panel onto a supporting cylinder and setting sealing members between a cylinder shaft and the cover plate, in a brake apparatus for vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A brake panel 13 and a brake shoe 14 are housed into the brake drum 6 of a hub 4, and a cover plate 10 surrounding a supporting cylinder 2 is connected to the opened edge of the brake drum 6 through a sealing member 11. Sealing members 24 and 25 for keeping the part between a brake lever 21 watertight are installed onto the cover plate 10. Since the brake drum is directly exposed to the outside air, heat radiation performance is superior and also the water-sealing performance is superior.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake vibration estimation method that can estimate the vibration of a disc brake in an in-plane direction, and a disc brake vibration estimation device.SOLUTION: The disc brake vibration estimation method estimates vibration at the contact of a disc rotor and a pad of the disc brake that generates a brake force by making the rotating disc rotor contact with the pad. The method comprises the steps for: acquiring input physical amounts being physical amounts related to the disc rotor and the pad (step ST11); estimating the vibration of the disc brake in the in-plane direction being the circumferential direction of the disc rotor on the basis of the acquired input physical amounts and a variation of contact rigidity between the disc rotor and the pad (steps ST12 to 14); and determining the squeak of the disc brake in the in-plane direction after estimating the vibration of the disc brake on the basis of displacement after the lapse of a prescribed time from the start of the estimation (step ST15).
