摘要： An elastomeric spring suspension is described for supporting a longitudinally extending vehicle frame rail above first and second axles forming a tandem axle configuration. The suspension includes a frame hanger assembly mounted to the vehicle frame rail. The frame hanger assembly has two full spring modules, each of which includes two shear springs, a progressive spring rate load cushion having a pyramidal shape with a flattened top surface and a spring mount for mounting the springs. A saddle assembly is connected to the spring mount, and an equalizing beam is connected to the saddle assembly and further connected to the axles. The spring rate for the suspension increases almost linearly as a function of sprung load, resembling a pneumatic suspension. Accordingly, the suspension exhibits excellent ride quality, without sacrificing roll stability.

摘要： A trailer (2) or caravan for coupling to a towing vehicle is normally composed of a series of different materials which react differently to temperature variations and moisture. Also, their corrosive characterisitics are very different and herewith also their lifetime and thus the lifetime of the trailer. The production of the known trailers with said diverse materials requires considerable working operations, and involves up to several different trade groups in connection with the assembly. With the object of achieving longer lifetime, less weight and herewith greater loading capacity, and also lower production costs, a trailer (2) of the kind disclosed is characterised in that the superstructure (6), the chassis (4) and towing-bar/triangle (8) consist of one and the same self-supporting construction of composite materials comprising external shells between which a core of suitable core material is placed. A method and a mould are also disclosed for the forming of items (16) of PVC-based cellular plastic.

The torsion elements also each have another end disposed at and resisting rotation relative to the at least one ring but permitting flexural movement relative to the at least one ring. At least one of the ends is axially movable. Each group of torsion elements is connected to a respective ring. A torsion control adjusts torsion in the at least two torsion elements, manually or through the use of servomotors.
