摘要： A method for providing patient registration without fiducials comprises the steps of: spatially placing an ultrasound image of a patient randomly at different starting positions relative to a preoperative image; creating an independent registration corresponding to each different starting positions, by optimizing a spatial transformation between the preoperative image and the ultrasound image to provide a first batch of registrations; executing a second registration to fine-tune the alignment between the preoperative image and the ultrasound image; and concatenating the spatial transformation to obtain spatial transformation between the patient in an operating room and a corresponding preoperative image.

摘要： Acquired echo data is corrected to reduce content from ultrasound that has undergone at least one reflection off the probe surface, for example, to reduce corresponding reverberation artefacts from imaging. In some embodiments, the propagation medium, i.e., layer or adjoining layers, through which the reverberation occurs, is, after a set of echo radiofrequency data (404, 408) has been acquired, modified in preparation for a next application of ultrasound. During that next application, it is the reverberating ultrasound signals (424), according to embodiments of the invention, that are more affected by the modification than are the non-reverberating, i.e., direct signals (420). This difference in effect is due, for example, to greater overall time of flight through the modified medium on account of reverberation in the propagation path.

摘要： The present invention provides for a method of controlling mass movement of fluid material within a field of interest comprising using time reversal acoustic focusing. The time reversal acoustic focusing can be is used for simultaneous spatial and temporal focusing of acoustic energy to control the duration of localization and/or direction of movement of material within tissue or liquid within tissue. Both delivery of material and persistence with respect to target locations can be enhanced by focusing of sonic waveforms or transmissions towards targeted areas in a field of interest, such as within a patient.

摘要： A method and system of imaging of a vessel is provided. The system can include a matrix transducer array (120) for transmitting ultrasonic waves into a region of a body having a vessel and receiving echoes in response, where the echoes are associated with blood flow through the vessel; and a processor (100) operably coupled to the matrix transducer array. The processor can adjust positions of sample volumes (250) associated with the echoes. The processor can electronically steers the ultrasonic waves at one or more of the positions of the sample volumes. The processor can determine a wall of the vessel at each of the positions of the sample volumes based on a Doppler spectrum captured at each of the positions of the sample volumes. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要： An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system is described which utilizes one or more transducer arrays (10a, 10b) affixed to the head of a patient to diagnose and treat stroke victims. The transducer headset (200) produces a two or three dimensional image of the vasculature (300) inside the cranium, preferably assisted by a microbubble contrast agent. A vascular flow map is produced by the system which may be diagnosed for signs of a blood clot. If a blood clot is detected, a therapeutic beam is transmitted while the contrast agent is present to break up the blood clot by the disruption of microbubbles. The headset may also be used in a monitoring application to detect the recurrence of blood clots in a stroke victim.
