    • The present invention relates to a tyre (10) for vehicle wheels, comprising : a carcass comprising at least one carcass ply (11) the ends of which are fastened to a pair of annular reinforcing elements (12), each of said annular reinforcing elements being incorporated in a respestive bead (13) of said tyre and comprising at least one metallic threadlike element (22), a tread band (15) extending circumferentially around said carcass structure, and a belt structure (17) circumferentially located between said carcass structure and said tread band. In accordance with the present invention, said at least one threadlike element (22) is performed. The present invention also concerns an annular reinforcing element (12) comprising at least one preformed threadlike element (22) as well as a method for controlling the behaviour, during use, of a tyre for vehicle wheels in an at least partially deflated condition.

    • The present invention concerns a process for manufacturing a tyre. Said process comprises the steps of: a) providing an elastomeric layer on an outer surface of a toroidal support; b) manufacturing said green tyre on said toroidal support; c) introducing said green tyre supported on said toroidal support into a moulding cavity; d) introducing a fluid under pressure into the space defined between the inner surface of the green tyre and the toroidal support; e) curing the green tyre. Said process further comprises the step of the step of causing an electrical current to flow in at least a heating element provided to the outer surface of said toroidal support so as to obtain an at least partial precuring of said elastomeric layer. The present invention further relates to a toroidal support (10) which is provided with at least a heating element (20) covering at least a portion of the outer surface of said toroidal support, said heating element comprising, in a radial direction from the inside towards the outside of said heating element, athermally insulating layer (22) and an electrically resistive circuit (23). Preferably, the heating element (20) further comprises a protective layer (24) radially external to the electrically resistive circuit (23).
