摘要： A very small form factor consumer electronic product includes at least a single piece housing having an integral front and side walls that cooperate to form a cavity in cooperation with a front opening where an edge of the side walls define a rear opening and at least some of the edges have flanges. The consumer electronic product also includes an user input assembly having a size and shape in accordance with the front opening and a clip assembly having a size and shape in accordance with the rear opening and having an external user actionable clip, a plurality of internal hooking features, and a plurality of internal latching features. The clip assembly is secured by engaging at least some of the hooking features and the flanges on the edges of the housing and engaging the latching features and corresponding attachment features on the internal support plate.

摘要： A modular material antenna assembly is provided that includes an antenna block having a portion with a shape that interlocks with a corresponding portion of an electrically non-conductive frame and secures the antenna block to the electrically non-conductive frame. The electrically non-conductive frame is attached to an interior of an electrically conductive housing so that the electrically non-conductive frame and the electrically conductive housing form an integrated structure. An antenna flex is then mechanically secured to the antenna block. The antenna flex may also be electrically connected to a circuit board. The frame is designed to support a cover glass for the portable electronic device and may be affixed to a housing. The dielectric constant of the antenna block is substantially less than the dielectric constant of the frame.

摘要： Devices and methods for assembling co-planar electrical contacts (20) in a connector (100) are provided herein. In one aspect, an exemplary method of assembly comprises depositing solder in a connector plug enclosure (10), positioning electrical contacts on the solder deposits (22), advancing the hotbar (30) toward the enclosure contacting each of the electrical contacts so as to planarizc a top surface of each of the electrical contacts with the enclosure and melting the solder with the heated hotbar to solder the electrical contacts to the enclosure. In one aspect, an exemplary hotbar device includes a magnet (33) for releasably coupling the electrical contacts to the hotbar. In another aspect, the hotbar includes metallic portions for heating the electri¬ cal contacts and insulated ceramic portions (35) for contacting the en¬ closure. In another aspect, an electrically conductive hotbar includes side portions that extend away from the bottom heating surface (31) facilitating more uniform current flow through the hotbar.

The input end (1102) and the output end (1104) of the wire (900) may abut one another at the location where the input and output wires enter and exit the inductor coil (1100). The wire (900) can include one or more bundles (602, 604) of strands and the strands in each bundle are twisted around an axis extending along a length of the wire (900), and when there are at least two bundles, the bundles may be twisted around the axis. At least one edge of the inductor coil (1100) can be formed into a variety of shapes, such as in a curved shape.

The dielectric frame (205) and the overmold (230) may be made from materials containing silica aerogel. The voids (250) and the aerogel materials result in reduced parasitic capacitance between the contacts (120(1)..120(8)) enabling higher data transfer speeds.

摘要： Embodiments can provide reversible or dual orientation USB plug connectors for mating with standard USB receptacle connectors, e.g., a standard Type A USB receptacle connector. Accordingly, the present invention may be compatible with any current or future electronic device that includes a standard USB receptacle connector. USB plug connectors according to the present invention can have a 180 degree symmetrical, double orientation design, which enables the plug connector to be inserted into a corresponding receptacle connector in either of two intuitive orientations. Some embodiments of the present invention may be used with or require a non-standard USB receptacle connector. Thus, embodiments of the present invention may reduce the potential for USB connector damage and user frustration during the incorrect insertion of a USB plug connector into a corresponding USB receptacle connector of an electronic device.
