摘要： Immunogenic compositions are provided, based on the highly conserved, core CD4 binding site of the gp120 protein of the human immunodeficiency virus. An antigenic conjugate (designated E-416-433) effective in stimulating the production of HIV neutralizing antibodies in mammals is an electrophilic derivative of HIV gp120 peptide 416-433, covalently linked to an immunogenic carrier protein. Provided also are related methods of immunization, methods of antibody production and antibodies obtained using the methods of the invention.

摘要： The invention provides improved methods for producing induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) from adult fibroblasts. The methods include contacting adult fibroblasts with a reprogramming composition suitable for reprogramming the adult fibroblasts to iPSC, under conditions effective for the reprogramming composition to penetrate the adult fibroblasts, followed by culturing the contacted fibroblasts for a time period sufficient for the cells to be reprogrammed. The cultured cells are then sorted to select cells based upon their expression of the cell membrane surface markers CD13 NEG SSEA4 POS Tra-1-60 POS . iPSC colonies are then identified from the sorted cells.

摘要： A method of producing hydrogen from sewage sludge comprising: (a) introducing sewage sludge into an anaerobic digester containing a multiplicity of interfacing pairs of cathodes and anodes spaced from 0.5 to 1.5 inches from one another; (b) maintaining anaerobic conditions within said digester to cause the digestion of said sewage sludge; (c) applying an electric potential between said cathodes and anodes to create a current density of from 0.25 to 2.0 amps/square foot at said electrodes in order to suppress the formation of methane and enhance the production of hydrogen; and collecting gas containing hydrogen produced from said digester.

摘要： A system and method for assessing the immunological status of one or more individuals in a patient population is presented. The method includes establishing a database comprising a plurality of records of information each representative of the immune status of an individual in the population, each of said records including (1 ) current information from one or more assays for the presence of a biochemical, and (2) individual specific information comprising one or more of said individual's medical history, said individual's doctors; observations and historical, demographic, lifestyle, and familial information relating to said individual. The method further includes processing the information in said database to find trends or patterns relating to the. immune status of individuals in said patient population; and using the said trends or patterns as part of a health care related decision making process.

The modules preferably comprise a detection chamber with integrated electrodes that may be used for carrying out electrode induced luminescence measurements. Methods are described for immobilizing assay reagents in a controlled fashion on these electrodes and other surfaces. Assay modules and cartridges are also described that have a detection chamber, preferably having integrated electrodes, and other fluidic components which may include sample chambers, waste chambers, conduits, vents, bubble traps, reagent chambers, dry reagent pill zones and the like. In certain preferred embodiments, these modules are adapted to receive and analyze a sample collected on an applicator stick.

The scrubber is used to clean the lumen of the cannula of medical instrument by degrading, dispersing and dissolving said debris and mechanically dislodging it from said lumen.

The plurality of participants receive segment instructions for authoring the segment candidates.
