摘要： According to the present invention there is provided an assembly comprising, a needle unit (2) comprising n hollow needles (2a-h), wherein n is greater than one, and wherein each hollow needle (2a-h) can receive a respective sample fluid; a flow cell unit (3) comprising m flow cells (3a-d), 5 wherein m is greater than one, each flow cell (3a-d) having an input (3a'-d') and an output (3a''-d''), and a test surface on which ligands can be provided located between the input (3a'-d'), and output (3a''-d''); a means for consecutively moving sample fluids, from each of said n hollow needles respectively, into all said m flow cells, so that said sample fluids flow 10 consecutively through the same flow cells. There is further provided a corresponding method of screening a sample fluid for molecules which can bind to predefined ligands.

摘要： A fluidic device is provided. The fluidic device comprises a separation channel having at its upstream end a junction, a first channel for supplying a first fluid flow, a second channel for supplying a second fluid flow. The first and second channels meet at the junction are adapted to provide the first fluid flow in the separation channel sheathed by the second fluid flow,such that the first fluid flow does not contact the separation channel walls. The separation channel, the first and second channels are provided as a unitary piece, or where the separation channel and the first and second channels are provided as a non-unitary piece comprising a plurality of parts, the parts are of the same material.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a fluidic interface for delivering a fluid into a microfluidic device, the interface comprising a chamber comprising a first accepting/delivering fluid opening and a second accepting/delivering fluid opening, each opening being positioned opposite to the other, wherein the diameter of the first accepting/delivering fluid opening is smaller than the internal diameter of the chamber and a tubing system connecting the first accepting/delivering fluid opening to a pressure source capable of generating positive or negative pressure. The interface is characterized in that the second accepting/delivering fluid opening is designed to mechanically limit its insertion into a receptacle of a microfluidic device to ensure a predetermined gap (H) between the second accepting/delivering fluid opening and a lower side of the receptacle of a microfluidic device.

摘要： Fluidic multiwell bioreactors are provided as a microphysiological platform for in vitro investigation of multi-organ crosstalks with microbiome for an extended period of time of at least weeks and months. The platform has one or more improvements over existing bioreactors, including on-board pumping for pneumatically driven fluid flow, a redesigned spillway for self- leveling from source to sink, a non-contact built-in fluid level sensing device, precise control on fluid flow profile and partitioning, and facile reconfigurations such as daisy chaining and multilayer stacking. The platform supports the culture of multiple organs together with microbiome in a microphysiological, interacted systems, suitable for a wide range of biomedical applications including systemic toxicity studies and physiology- based pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic predictions. A process to fabricate the bioreactors is also provided.

摘要： A device for injecting biological specimens includes (i) a top casing; (ii) a hopper disposed in the top casing; (iii) a bottom casing disposed below the top casing, the bottom casing defining a chamber and an outlet; (iv) a slidable carriage at least partially disposed within the chamber, the slidable carriage defining a cavity and a needle guide; and (v) a needle disposed within the needle guide. The cavity is configured, upon linear translation of the slidable carriage within the chamber toward the needle, to align with and receive a biological specimen from the hopper that is penetrated by the needle upon further linear translation of the slidable carriage toward the needle. The cavity is further configured to align with the outlet upon a reverse linear translation of the slidable carriage away from the needle after the biological specimen is penetrated.
