    • A safety syringe for intravenous injection includes: a hollow needle normally eccentrically held in a sleeve portion formed on a front portion of a syringe, a suction tube replaceably mounted on the sleeve portion for sucking liquid medicine from an ampoule into the syringe, a plunger straightly slidably held in the syringe for injection use, a coupling member retained in the plunger engageable with a biasing socket recessed in a rear needle portion of the hollow needle with the biasing socket, whereby upon pushing of the plunger to the needle by forcibly inserting the coupling member into the biasing socket of the needle when finishing the injection, the biasing socket will be forcibly coupled with the coupling member, and upon retraction of the plunger and the needle into the syringe, the needle will be automatically inclined to prevent an outward protruding of the retracted needle from the syringe for preventing its pricking to the others; with the hollow needle annularly formed with a ratchet-tooth recess in a shank portion of the hollow needle to be engaged with a ratchet tooth annularly formed in an inside surface of the sleeve portion, thereby preventing an outward forward ejection of the hollow needle during the injection, and allowing a smooth rearward releasing of the hollow needle from the sleeve portion to be retracted into the syringe after the injection.

    • A one-piece syringe (2) includes an elongate frame (4) having front and back parts (6, 8) coupled by a hinge (10). A hollow barrel (12) extends from the front part and away from an outer surface (22). A plunger (14) having gaskets (54, 56) at its outer end (32) extends from the back part away from the inner surface (50). The frame is folded over at the hinge and the outer end of the plunger is inserted into the bore of the barrel. The plunger has a bendable region (62) along its length which permits the plunger to move properly along the bore during use. Withdrawal of the outer end of the plunger from the bore is prevented by the engagement of wedge shaped teeth (64) extending laterally from the plunger which engage and score the bore wall (70). After use, the barrel and plunger are pivoted to a disposal position generally parallel to the front part of the frame. This causes the frangible connection (26) between the plunger and the frame to break further preventing the reuse of the syringe. The frame is then pivoted back upon itself and latched together (92, 94) to capture the needle (36), barrel and plunger between the front and back parts for safe disposal. The frame can include slide type fasteners (128-134) to permit the syringes to be temporarily held together as a bandolier (126). A self-dispensing, lockable package (138) of syringes can be used to dispense the syringes one at a time.

    • A single use syringe with plunger arm safety cover comprising a plunger arm, plunger tip, syringe body, and tip retaining sleeve is disclosed. The tip retaining sleeve surrounds tip retaining arms of the plunger tip allowing the tip retaining arms to grasp the plunger arm. After the plunger arm is pulled backwards, sleeve ribs prevent the tip retaining sleeve from moving in a forward direction. As the plunger arm is pushed forward, the tip retaining arms are no longer surrounded by the tip retaining sleeve and the tip retaining arms move outwards and release the plunger tip. After the plunger tip has been released from the plunger arm, the plunger tip and the plunger arm cannot be reconnected and the single use syringe cannot be reused. The plunger arm is removed from the syringe body and locked onto a guide lock and covers the needle tip.
