    • A work holding mechanism is provided to improve a transfer speed by apparently preventing a lateral direction movement of a work being transferred using guide members. A base member(1) supports a work. A plurality of guide members(2) are prepared on the base member. Each of the guide members is provided with a shaft(20), a contact section(21), and a limiting section(22). The shaft is rotatably supported by the base member. The contact section is contacted to a lower surface portion of a circumference of a work and moved to a lower direction centering the shaft when the work is placed on the base member. In case the contact section is dropped, the limiting section is raised centering on the shaft to be opposite to a lateral side of the circumference of the work. The base member is provided with a step section including a receiving surface and a perpendicular wall corresponding to the circumference of the work. The contact section and the limiting section configure a portion of the step section.
