    • PURPOSE: A reverse-rotation preventing structure of an engine is provided to prevent accidents due to sudden unintended acceleration of the vehicle by discharging exhaust gas to open a blocking plate when the engine rotates forward and blocking the inflow of external air with the blocking plate to restrict starting when the engine rotates reversely. CONSTITUTION: A reverse-rotation preventing structure of an engine includes a blocking device formed at the end of an intake/exhaust pipe(101,102) located inside and outside a muffler housing of a vehicle. The blocking device includes a circular blocking plate(110) which blocks the intake/exhaust pipe, a pair of fixing brackets(120) which are formed at the upper outer periphery of the intake/exhaust pipe at a predetermined interval for axially coupling one end of a stopper to a hinge shaft, the stopper(130) with one end inserted between the fixing brackets and the other fixed to the front of the blocking plate, and the hinge shaft(140) which is coupled with the one end of the stopper via the fixing brackets and allowed to rotate. The blocking plate is formed to rotate freely and block the outlet of the intake/exhaust pipe in the normal times.
