    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push type engine start control system keeping engine start as fail safe at minimum even if step down of a brake pedal can not be detected due to some reason. SOLUTION: An engine start control system 1 includes a push switch 21 which a user pushes for engine start and a brake sensor 101 detecting that the user steps down the brake pedal longer than regulation stroke. Also, an engine start control part 13 which goes in a normal mode when the brake sensor 101 is under a detection condition, and which permits engine start when predetermined normal pushing operation is applied on the push switch 21, and which goes in a fail safe mode when the brake sensor 101 is under a non-detection condition, and which permits engine start when predetermined fail safe pushing operation making operation load of a user greater than that of normal pushing operation is applied is provided.
