    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool each of cylinders and intake pipes while providing a compact configuration as a whole.
      SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine 1 is provided with the two cylinders 4 juxtaposed adjacent to each other, the two intake pipes 12 and two exhaust pipes 13. The respective intake pipes 12 are positioned so as to sandwich the cylinders 4 from both sides in the juxtaposing position. The exhaust pipes 13 are connected to the cylinders 4 in the positions between the respective intake pipes 12. Thus, the intake pipes 12 can be held in the positions separated from the cylinders 4 serving as a heat source during engine operation to the both sides, that is, the outer positions having low ambient temperature. Therefore, intake temperature of the internal combustion engine 1 can be reduced, and operability and fuel economy can be improved by suppressing generation of knocking etc.
