    • PURPOSE:To eliminate effectively the black smoke exhausted from a Diesel engine by a method wherein a heating means is provided inside of a collecting chamber of a cyclone collector, while the fine particles contained in an exhaust gas is oxidized and eliminated after collected in a collecting chamber. CONSTITUTION:A cyclone collector 1 is formed of a heat resistant insulating material 2, while a swirl chamber 3 and a collecting chamber 4 are provided inside the collector 1. An exhaust pipe 6 is provided on the upper wall of a swirl chamber 3, a heater 7 is provided inside the collecting chamber 4, and an exhaust gas of a Diesel engine containing fine particles is introduced into the swirl chamber 3 through an introducing pipe 5, then changed to a swirling flow. Hereupon, the fine particles are collected at the outer periphery of the collecting chamber by the centrifugal force, and the central part of the exhaust gas is exhausted from the exhaust pipe 6 as a gas devoid of fine particles. Thus, the fine particles are made to be settled inside the collecting chamber 4 and heated with the heater 7, that is, the fine particles are combined with an oxygen contained in the exhaust gas, then exhausted from the exhaust pipe 6 as a carbon dioxide gas.
