      SOLUTION: The water cut-off structure 1 prevents water from flowing into a shaft 3 from a clearance 9 between segments 5 laid in a tunnel 2 and the pit wall 6 of the shaft 3 even after the occurrence of relative displacement between the segments 5 and the pit wall 6 at a connection part 4 between the tunnel 2 and the shaft 3. The water cut-off structure is constructed by interposing a high rigidity sealing material 7 broken when a load of a predetermined value or more is applied thereto, and an elastic sealing material 8 lower in rigidity and higher in expansibility than the high rigidity sealing material 7, in the clearance 9 between the segments 5 and the pit wall 6.
