    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular occupant protection system which is rapidly functioned when a collision occurs so as to protect occupants while suppressing any excessive preliminary operation by grasping conditions and a possibility that the collision occurs in an early stage.
      SOLUTION: The vehicular occupant protection system is equipped with: one's own vehicle information acquisition unit 11 acquiring the vehicle information including route information on the course of the vehicle to a destination; another vehicle information acquisition unit 12 acquiring the other vehicle information that is received through vehicle-to-vehicle communication between the vehicle and the other vehicle and that includes position information of the other vehicle; a collision condition calculation unit 13 calculating a collision condition between the vehicle and the other vehicle on the basis of the vehicle information and the other vehicle information; and an operation preparation unit 14 preparing a system which corresponds to a collision damage decreasing system 40 decreasing a level of a collision damage of an occupant of the vehicle, and which is adapted to decrease the level of the collision damage that corresponds to the collision condition.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar system that can determine stoppage or deterioration in the transmission output, and further, can surely make the transmission output in the radar system stop or decrease the transmission output under prescribed conditions.
      SOLUTION: The radar system comprises a transmission means for transmitting electromagnetic waves; a reception means for receiving electromagnetic waves reflected by the target object of transmission electromagnetic waves; a target object measuring means for measuring the distance at least between the radar system and a target object, based on transmission and reception electromagnetic waves; transmission output control means S1, S2 for making the transmission output of the transmission means stopped or reduced under prescribed conditions; transmission output control function failure determination means S3-S6 for determining that the transmission output control means is abnormal, when electromagnetic waves having intensities that exceed a preset threshold are being received, regardless of the stoppage or reduction in the transmission output; and a processing means S7 at abnormality determination for stopping the power supply to the radar system, when it is determined as being abnormal.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integration type radar apparatus for vehicles which prevents lowering of detection performance such as shortening of detectable distance and the like and simultaneously reduces a load of arithmetic processing of addition process of a reception signal. SOLUTION: Addition process for adding a plurality of reception signals corresponding to a plurality of laser light irradiated side by side is performed. By this, detection sensitivity of a reflecting object can be improved. In the addition process however, digital data of the same sampling timing are added in each addition object reception signal range, and so the larger the number of sampling, the more the operation quantity increases. By referring to the irradiation time of the laser light with a delay block 88, the delay time of sampling initiation timing of reception signal is controlled. By this manner, operation load is reduced, and so even if the number of sampling is made smaller than the necessary number of sampling for covering the whole detection distance, the reflecting object can be detected for the whole detection distance by properly changing the delay time.
