摘要： PURPOSE: To prevent the unexpected manual selection of the vehicular travel direction, regarding a device for a vehicular travel speed control formed so as to control a travel speed in both forward and backward directions on the basis of a target speed established and inputted via an operation member. CONSTITUTION: An operation member 12 can be selectively shifted from a reference position P into a 'forward travel zone' and a 'backward travel zone' at both sides of the position P through a manual operation. During the travel of a vehicle in a forward direction, a travel restriction member 60 is projected into a space between the reference position P and the 'backward travel zone' within the travel locus of the pin 32 of the member 12, thereby preventing the member 12 from being shifted into the 'backward travel zone'. Also, when the vehicle is traveling in a backward direction, the member 50 is projected into a space between the reference position P and the 'forward travel zone' within the locus, thereby preventing the member 12 from being shifted into the 'forward travel zone.' In addition, when the vehicle is at rest, the member 50 is caused to retreat to an area outside the locus, thereby releasing the prohibition of shift.
