    • PURPOSE:To prevent the production of noises and the abrasion of the side-sealing material in a vane-type air pump to supply the secondary air for the purification of the engine exhaust gas by making the air-shutting up starting line bysymmetric, and providing a buffer chamber directly before the starting line. CONSTITUTION:In order to make the position where the air-shutting up is started bysymmetric with respect to the center of a cylinder 6, an air-shutting up starting line 50 is formed in parallel with the axis of the cylinder 6. A buffer chamber 73 provided directly before the starting line 50 permits fluid to be once shut up when a vane 10 passes a lip 72. When the vane 10 reaches the buffer chamber 73 a portion of the fluid escapes to a suction chamber 2, and so the fullscale shutting up is started when the vane 10 has reached the starting line 50. This prevents the production of noises due to a sudden air-shutting up. In addition, since the air-shutting up is successively performed bysymmetrically with respect to the vane 10, the abrasion of the side-sealing material due to the load axially displacing the vane 10 can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To both improve heating efficiency of a device and increase its compactness and assembly workability or the like, by arranging the captioned device in an exhaust gas passage and providing an electric heater of specific construction in the upstream side of a heat resistant filter member in said device. CONSTITUTION:A fine grain purifier 4, interposed in the downstream of an exhaust manifold in an internal combustion engine, is constituted by housing a filter member 42, consisting of porous ceramic material, in a vessel 41 through a shock absorbing member 44 and sealing member 45, and jointing an electric heater 43 to an end side in the upstream side of said filter member. At this time, the electric heater 43 is formed to annular shape with a heating unit 43b to one side of an electric insulator base plate 43a by the method of evaporation or printing, and conductors 43c are connected to the both ends of the heating unit and similarly formed to electrically conduct said unit. Then an electric insulator 43b is formed to film shape by printing fully over the base plate 43a so as to coat these heating unit 43b and conductors 43c, to constitute the purifier.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the titled filter with good filterability and high reliability by forming a filter member in such a manner that a continuous recessed and protruded shape is provided in the flowing direction of a fluid and pleats are formed on the filter surface thereof concentrically. CONSTITUTION:A filter member 1 has a continuous recessed and protruded shape toward the flowing direction of a fluid and said shape is integrally molded in an almost concentrical circle form to the right angle direction against the flowing direction of the fluid. At the same time, pleats 11 are formed over the entire surface of a filter surface and, as the whole, molded in a concentrical pleat form. In this filter member, the fluid containing fine particles is flowed into the filter member 1 through a punching metal 3b and, after fine particles are removed, the purified fluid is flowed out through a punching metal 3a. As the result, the filter has a wide filter surface and the fluid is uniformly passed through the filter surface as well as pressure loss due to passing resistance is reduced and said filter has good collecting efficiency, excellent durability and high reliability.

    • PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of discharge of unburned hydrocarbon at the time of ignition and extinction of fire through a comparatively small-sized device by a method wherein a fuel is vaporized after it is mixed with heated combustion air.
      CONSTITUTION: Air supplied from a combustion air supply device comprising a pump or the like flows into the liquid fuel combustion apparatus from an air inlet of the latter. Then, the air passes through an electrical heater block 2 to be heated up to a temperature between about 200 and 300°C and flows into a mixing chamber 4 via a communication hole 3. On the other hand the fuel supplied from a liquid fuel supply device flows into the combustion apparatus through a pipe 5 and is injected into the mixing chamber 4 through a nozzle 5a. As a result, the fuel is subjected to a high speed stream of the heated combustion air so that the amount of discharge of the unburned hydrocarbon at the time of ignition and extinction of fire can be reduced.
