    • PURPOSE: To enable a scroll machine to be used also for incompressible fluid by providing notches towards the inner ends of movable and fixed scroll members from points having the inner ends and phases deviated from each other by 180°.
      CONSTITUTION: Movable and fixed scroll members 1, 2 have respectively the inside walls 13, 23 cut out in such a extent as the phases are deviated from the inner ends 100, 200 by 180°. As the volume of a pump chamber 9a formed of the outside wall of the movable ring member 1 and the inside wall of the fixed ring member 2 is reduced gradually, the inner end 100 of the movable ring member 1 will not contact the inside wall of the fixed ring member 2 so that the pump chamber 9a always communicates to a discharge port 222. Also, since the same applies to the pump chamber 9b formed of the inside wall of the movable ring member 1 and the outside wall of the fixed ring member 2, fluid can be transferred without producing compression.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce discharge pulsation while flowing in a fuel passage with great volume, by forming a fuel passage for discharged fuel in the housing of a drive motor to rotate a movable member of a scroll type pump. CONSTITUTION:A fuel pump consists of a motor part 1 and a pump part 2, and a rotor 12 is installed in an enclosing cylindrical motor housing 11 along its axis, where a gap 17 is formed between the periphery of this rotor 12 and the inside wall of said housing 11 so as to provide space for installation of a stator 13. An eccentric shaft 141 is installed at the tip of an output shaft 14 which serves as support for the rotor 12, and a movable member 22 is fitted on this eccentric shaft 141 at its foremost end. A spiral ridge 221 is formed at the center of the contact surface of movable member 22 with the housing 21 wall to constitute a scroll type pump between this ridge 221 and the mating recess 221 part of housing wall. The fuel is taken in from a joint pipe 23, passes through the above-mentioned gap 17, and discharged from a joint pipe 16.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce driving torque and permit to stand against a high speed rotation by a method wherein a shaft, supporting a movable scroll through a bearing, is provided with a path for introducing lubricating oil from an external source into an oil chamber in order to prevent the heating and seizing of the bearing. CONSTITUTION:Lubricating oil, sent from an engine by pressure, is introduced to the outer periphery of a sliding bearing 34 from a first path 37, subsequently, introduced to the inner periphery of the sliding bearing 34 through a communicating hole 34a in the radial direction of the sliding bearing 34, further, flows into the oil chamber 25 through the second path 31b of the shaft 31. A part of the oil in the oil chamber 25 enters into a pump chamber 9 through a gap 26 between the movable scroll 1 and a fixed scroll 2, further, returns into the engine again from the delivery port 231 of a delivery pipe 23 through a delivery chamber 22. According to this method, heating and seizing of the bearing may be prevented and the pump develops a sufficient function even in the high speed rotation due to the decrease of the driving torque of the bearing.

When pressure in a pump housing 9 comes high up to the discharge pressure, force acting on the first side plate 12 is entirely balanced with force acting on the second side plate 13. Therefore, even if fluid pressure comes too high, in this movable ring member 1, load to a steel ball 8 and a guide groove 7 is brought to almost nothing, so that deterioration in a thrust bearing is prevented and a mechanical loss is also reduced.
