    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device of a vehicle capable of surely moving a shift fork to a prescribed position without eliminating the effect of applying a push-pull cable, and thereby surely performing shift. SOLUTION: In this shift lever device, a change lever shaft of a gear type shift mechanism constituted to be shifted by the single shift fork is operated via the push-pull cable. The device is provided with a shift operation lever oscillatably provided and interlocked and connected with the push-pull cable and a gate 20a provided to enclose the surrounding of an intermediate part of the shift operation lever and guiding a shift operation of the shift operation lever. The gate 20a has a shape to more largely move the shift operation lever 21 by making an allowance for a clearance part between an outer casing and an inner casing of the push-pull cable.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back gear system devised to return to an ON state without operating a shifter even when it transfers to an OFF state while a motorcycle travels backward by the back gear system. SOLUTION: This back gear system for the motorcycle has the shifter 4 to support an idler gear 3 free to rotate, to position this idler gear 3 at a separated position not to be engaged with a main shaft side gear 1 at a backing position and to position the idler gear 3 at a connecting position to make it engaged with the main shaft side gear 1 at a forwarding position and a holding means 5 to temporarily hold both of a state of the shifter 4 at the backing position and a state of the shifter 4 at the forwarding position. The idler gear 3 is assembled on the shifter 4 by putting a shaft body 31 provided on the idler gear 3 into a bearing hole 41a provided on the shifter 4 free to rotate.
