摘要： The invention relates to a method and a device for adjusting the output torque or the output revolutions per minute of an internal combustion engine for protecting differential gearboxes. The invention is characterised in that the difference speeds or the difference revolutions per minute are calculated and monitored in the transversal direction of any vehicle (front, rear end and all-wheel drive). A difference of the cardan speeds is additionally present in the longitudinal direction in all-wheel drives. The drive torque is automatically reduced or the motor speed is automatically limited to a well tolerated measure when predetermined threshold values are exceeded. Said protection function for the differentials cannot be switched off and is also available when the drive torque control (AMR) is switched passively. The protection function can only be realised by means of software using already existing sensors and controlling devices. Application expenditure is minimal.

In order to prevent wheel spin, a high load is selectively applied to the LSD when the accelerator control position meets or exceeds a predetermined position threshold. Optionally, application of the high load may depend on the speed of the vehicle being less than a predetermined speed threshold, the accelerator control position concurrently meeting or exceeding the predetermined position threshold. In order to enhance directional stability of the vehicle, a stabilization load is optionally applied when the speed of the vehicle meets or exceeds the predetermined speed threshold.

A gerotor may be formed from a material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion and a housing formed from a material having a second lower coefficient of thermal expansion to vary pump component clearances as the viscosity of the pumped fluid changes with changes in temperature. A method of controlling the power transmission device includes defining a correlation between pump speed, fluid temperature and fluid pressure, determining fluid temperature, determining pump speed, and rotating the pump to transfer a predetermined quantity of torque.
