    • A bevel cutting system is attachable to a rotary device and comprises one or more bevel cutting devices having a same axis of rotation, that are combined together and that bevel objects having different diameters. The bevel cutting devices are attached to the same rotary drive spindle as a cutting blade of the rotary device. Each bevel cutting device comprises an annular wall extending away from the cutting blade. The annular wall has an inwardly- facing surface that is angled inwardly relative to their axis of rotation. An abrasive or a material removing pattern is provided on and/or in the angled inwardly- facing surface. A removable strip can be attached to the angled inwardly- facing surface. This removable strip can include an abrasive and/or a material-removing pattern or the like. The removable strip can be attached using an adhesive and/or mechanical fasteners. Cutting elements can be distributed around the inwardly- facing surface.

    • A device and process for producing a DC glow discharge at low pressure comprising a cylindrical stainless steel closed vacuum chamber (3) provided with means to create a low pressure in the range of 1X10 to 5X10 mbar preferably 1X10 mbar, an open ended hollow cylindrical cathode (2) fixed near the one end of the said cylindrical stainless steel closed vacuum chamber at a predetermined distance from the said closed end of the said vaccum chamber by insulating means, a constricted anode (1) placed axially outside the said cylindrical cathode, a floating D.C. power supply to cylindrical cathode through a current limiting resistor and to the said constricted anode through a rectifier resulting in the emissions of the secondary electrons from the said cylindrical cathode by ion bombardement to travel along the electric field lines which are normal to the said hollow cylindrical cathode; introducing the media for creating the plasma in side the vacuum chamber to a pressure preferably at 10 mbar to produce the DC glow inside the chamber followed by switching off the thermionic electron emitter once the plasma is produced. The plasma so generated breaks the atoms and molecules into ions and electrons, individual atoms and small collection of atoms (radicals) resulting in better nitriding, oxidizing, coatings, killing of micro-organisms and synthesizing powders.

    • Disclosed is a glow starter (1) comprising a container (2) in which a discharge gas is sealed, a first lead wire (3) and a second lead wire (4), a movable electrode (14) fitted to at least one of the first lead wire (3) and the second lead wire (4), and a glass member (15) containing cesium and arranged on at least one of the first lead wire (3), the second lead wire (4) and the movable electrode (14). The glow starter (1) has a contact portion wherein at least one of the first lead wire (3), the second lead wire (4) and the movable electrode (14) is in contact with the cesium component of the glass member (15), and this contact portion is exposed to the inner space (8) of the container (2). With such a constitution, the glow starter has a short discharge delay and improved characteristics in case when started in dark surroundings without using a radioactive substance.
