摘要： A differential gear mechanism includes a differential case, a first side gear, a second side gear, a first pinion and a second pinion. The first side gear is rotatably mounted within the differential case and has a first outer diameter. The second side gear is rotatably mounted within the differential case and has a second diameter. The first pinion gear is meshed for rotation with the first side gear during a first meshing event. The second pinion gear is meshed for rotation with the second side gear during a second meshing event. The first and second pinion gears form a torque transfer arrangement configured for transferring torque between the first and second pinion gears and the first and second side gears to rotate the first and second side gears. The first and second outer diameters are distinct such that the first and second meshing events are offset in time.

A hypoid gearset is positioned within one of the first driveline and the second driveline in a power path between the first and second power disconnection devices. The hypoid gearset is selectively disconnected from being driven by the first driveline and the second driveline when the first and second power disconnection devices are operated in a disconnected, non-torque transferring, mode. At least one of the first and second power disconnection devices includes an active dry friction clutch.

摘要： An inter-axle differential assembly (10) comprises an input shaft (14), an output shaft (30) arranged coaxially with respect to each other, a differential gearing and a dedicated reversible lubrication pump (50) disposed between the input and output shafts. The reversible gerotor type lubrication pump (50) includes a rotor (52) driven by the input shaft (14), and an impeller (52), both disposed within a pump body (56) coupled to a side gear drivingly connected to the output shaft (30). Thus, the lubrication pump (50) generates lubricant flow only during the differential action between the input shaft and the output shaft, i.e., when needed. An oil flow generated by the lubrication pump (50) is supplied to various components of the inter-axle differential gearing through a gallery of fluid passages.
