    • This invention comprises a composition comprising heat stable plant juice soluble plant proteins and a method of using the same for anti-pathogenesis effect. The said composition is standardized for a parameter of a property of the composition that is relatable to anti-pathogenesis property or to the content of the protein molecules having molecular weight of 26 kilo Daltons (kD) or less. The said anti-pathogenesis effect comprises an anti-microbial effect on living beings or as an Adiponectin agonist effect in mammals. The Adiponectin agonist effect in mammals comprises reducing the risk of one or more of a disorder selected from Type II diabetes, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, hypertension, heart disease and obesity. The anti¬ microbial effect comprises reducing the risk of or treating the microbial infections in plants and animals, with or without synergistic interaction with other antimicrobial agents. This invention also comprises a plant material composition not containing, heat stable proteins; wherein the composition is made by pulping the plant material, removing juice from the solid residue, heating juice to remove coagulable protein and non-protein matter as a coagulum, removing the coagulum and thereafter removing the heat stable proteins from the resulting composition, optionally treating the same to get a further composition comprises either non-protein hydrophilic plant juice solubles or non-protein lipophilic plant juice solubles or both together in same composition.

    • The invention relates a process for the isolation of RuBisCO (ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase oxygenase) from a plant material said process comprising: a.lysing the plant material to release RuBisCO and chlorophyll from the plant cells; b.separating the lysed plant material into a liquid juice and a high solids slurry or a high solids cake, said liquid juice containing RuBisCO as well as chlorophyll; c.contacting the liquid juice with activated carbon to adsorb chlorophyll onto the activated carbon; d.separating the dechlorophyllized liquid juice from the chlorophyll-loaded activated carbon; and e.further processing the dechlorophyllized liquid juice to produce the dechlorophyllized RuBisCO preparation. This present process yields a protein preparation that is essentially free of chlorophyll and in which the bulk of the RuBisCO is undenatured. The invention further provides a particulate dechlorophyllized RuBisCO preparation that is obtained by the aforementioned process, said preparation having a weight averaged diameter of 10-1000 µm; containing at least 30 wt.% of undenatured RuBisCO and containing less than 0.1% of chlorophyll by weight of RuBisCO.

    • This invention provides plant arabinogalactan proteins (AGPs) and their genes. AGPs were isolated from Nicotiana alata, Nicotiana plumbaginafolia and Pyrus communis. Amino acid sequences of isolated AGP peptide molecules are presented. Isolated AGP molecules were used to synthesize oligonucleotide probes to prepare oligonucleotide primers for PCR or prepare RNA probes to screen cDNA libraries of N. alata, N. plumbaginafolia, and P. communis. cDNA clones encoding amino acid sequences of isolated AGP molecules were isolated. The invention presents for the first time an intact AGP amino acid sequence derived from a corresponding AGP gene. The instant invention further provides methods useful in obtaining AGP genes encoding an AGP peptide comprising a specific isolated hydroxyproline-rich (OAST-rich) sequence or a specific isolated hydroxyproline-poor sequence.
