摘要： The present invention relates to apparatus and methods for endovascularly delivering and releasing a prosthesis, e.g., an aortic prosthesis, within and/or across a patient's native heart valve, referred to hereinafter as replacing the patient's heart valve. In some embodiments the delivery system comprises a plurality of first actuatable element adapted to engage a plurality of second elements in a first configuration to capture the implant within the delivery system, and wherein the plurality of first actuatable element are adapted to engage the plurality of second elements in a second configuration and to release the implant from the delivery system.

摘要： A method is described for endovascularly replacing a heart valve of a patient including the steps of delivering a valve (20) and an expandable anchor (30) to a deployed configuration in which the anchor (30) contacts tissue at an anchor site; optionally repositioning the anchor (30) in the anchor site; and deploying the anchor (30). Some embodiments include the steps of foreshortening the anchor (30) via an actuation delivered by a deployment tool and thereafter releasing the anchor from the deployment tool. The delivering step may include the step of delivering the replacement heart valve coupled to, or separate from, the anchor (30), in which case the method further includes the step of attaching the valve (20) to the anchor (30). The anchor may be made from an expandable braid. In some embodiments, the apparatus further includes one or more locks configured to maintain expansion of the braid.

摘要： A medical implant deployment tool and deployment method are disclosed. One aspect of the invention provides an implant system including an implant adapted for endovascular delivery and deployment; and a deployment tool adapted to deploy the implant, with the deployment tool having an actuation controller; a pluralit of actuation elements adapted to apply forces to one or more implant deployment mechanisms and each adapted to extend along an actuation element path within a patient's vasculature; and an actuation element compensation mechanism adapted to compensate for differences in length between the actuation element paths. Another aspect the invention provides a method of deploying an implant including the steps of endovascularly delivering an impla and implant deployment mechanisms to an implant site and applying an actuation force to the implant deployment mechanisms through actuation elements extending through the patient's vasculature while compensating for differences in length between actuation element path lengths to deploy the implant.

摘要： A delivery device (2) for delivering an IOL (100) is described. IOL (100) comprises optic portion (102) and haptics (104) positioned within the delivery- device in an unstressed, or expanded, configuration. Delivery device (2) includes inserter body (4), pull block (6), and belts (8). The pull block is connected to the belts on the belt portions that are on the exterior surfaces and bottom surface of the inserter body, but is not connected to the belts on the inside of the inserter body. Movement of the pull block in either of the direction of arrows D and P moves the portion of the belts on the inside of the inserter body to move in the direction generally opposite the direction of movement of the pull block. For example, when pull block (6) is moved in the proximal, or P direction, the belt portions on the interior of the body move generally in the D direction. The belts act generally as conveyor belts to move the IOL the pull block is actuated.

The lens includes an optic portion (56, 58, 62), a non-optic portion (52, 54) disposed peripherally from the optic portion and adapted to engage a lens capsule, wherein the intraocular lens is adapted to change power in response to ciliary muscle movement. The lens also includes an actuatable element (60) adapted to be actuated by an external energy source to change an optical parameter of the intraocular lens.
