    • This disclosure includes apparatuses and techniques to access the right ventricle via trans-femoral vein threading a catheter or catheters to the apex or bottom of the right ventricle. Piercing through the venous or right side of the heart in the interventricular septal wall to access the left ventricle a catheter can be passed to turn upward pointing to the mitral valve. From this access point in the left ventricle the flail mitral leaflet can be sutured and tethered pulling it back into position and reattached with a grounding anchor in the right ventricle or imbedding the anchor into the septal wall. The interventricular septal wall crossing technique could include the passing of a coaxial catheter through the first access catheter where the first access catheter could guide to direct the internal or second coaxial catheter toward the flail mitral leaflet.

    • A two-component valve prosthesis system (100) includes a docking component (102) and a prosthetic valve component (104) that is configured to be delivered separately from the docking component. The docking component has a compressed configuration for percutaneous delivery within a vasculature and an expanded configuration for deployment within a native heart valve. The docking component includes a tubular skirt, a first annular scaffold attached to a first end of the tubular skirt and a second annular scaffold attached to a second end of the tubular skirt. The first and second annular scaffolds are independent from each other. An intermediate portion of the tubular skirt is unsupported such that neither of the first or second annular scaffolds surrounds the intermediate portion of the tubular skirt. The prosthetic valve component has a compressed configuration for percutaneous delivery within a vasculature and an expanded configuration for deployment within the intermediate portion of the docking component.

    • The present disclosure describes tissue gripping devices, systems, and methods for gripping mitral valve tissue during treatment of a mitral valve and while a tissue fixation device is implanted in the mitral valve. The tissue gripping device includes a flexible member and one or more tissue gripping members coupled to one or more arms of the flexible member. The flexible member is formed from a shape-memory material, such as nitinol, and the tissue gripping member(s) are formed from a material that is more rigid than the shape-memory material. The tissue gripping member(s) are attached to the flexible member by threading or looping suture lines around and/or through the tissue gripping member(s) and the flexible member and/or by applying a cover material to the tissue gripping device to hold the tissue gripping member(s) against the flexible member.
