    • A system for using magnetic resonance to track a medical device, including an MR tracking device comprising one or more radiofrequency (RF) tracking coils adapted to receive a magnetic resonance MR response signal from nuclei excited by an RF pulse, the tracking device being attached to a medical device, wherein a dephasing gradient is applied perpendicular to the readout gradient before the RF response signal is received, thereby dephasing and attenuating any interfering signal emanating from remote nuclei, while the MR response signal is substantially unaffected. The system can also detect errors in tracking location by checking the amplitude of the signal from each coil and the detected distance between each coil, and correcting for such errors by ignoring data from coils having low amplitude or location deviating from known location relative to the other coils.

    • The present invention is an advanced shopping system and method used for integrating traditional and electronic commerce channels. Each system user is provided with a shopping cart-unit, which is a portable device such as a dual-interface smart card. The system includes a number of item-units, whereineach item-unit is associated with an item or service presented for sale in a selling-area. Each item-unit contains in its memory distinctive item-information details that specifies the associated item or service. The selling-area can be an area in a store or a page in an online store Web site. The system also includes a number of selling-units that can be an in-store kiosk, a PC at home/office or a portable device. A system-server that handles the entire operation and security aspects of the system is also included. The user selcts an item that he would like to purchase and collects the item-information details from a specific item-unit into a shopping item-list that resides in the memory of his shopping cart-unit. By using a portable viewer-unit, the user can view, browse and update his shopping item-list. To complete his purchasing, the user introduces the shopping cart-unit to the selling-unit enabling the transfer of his shopping item-list and his personal details from the shopping cart-unit to the selling-unit. The user can then utilize the selling-unit to view, browse and update his shopping item-list, as well as confirm his purchase and pay for it.
