    • The invention relates to a mechanism for securing a shaft-hub connection (16) of two shafts (12, 14), especially for securing a power take-off shaft extension to a power take-off shaft of a tractor. Said mechanism comprises a locking element (40) which prevents an established shaft-hub connection between the two shafts (12, 14) from detaching in an axial direction. One of the two shafts (12) is provided with a hub (15) encompassing means (38) for establishing a positive connection to the other shaft (14). The other shaft (14) is provided with means (22) for establishing a positive connection to the shaft (12) that is equipped with the hub (15). The locking element (40) is embodied in a substantially annular manner and is disposed on the first of the two shafts (12). In order to make it easier than in prior art to axially secure the shaft-hub connection (16), the locking element (40) is fitted with a gear (44) that is embodied essentially complementary to a gear (22) of the second of the two shafts (14). The locking element (40) is arranged so as to be twistable relative to the first shaft (12) from a locked position into an unlocked position.
