Such a process includes introducing constituents of an expandable foam material into a continuous forming apparatus (30) that continuously compounds the constituents into a partially-cured compounded polymeric material, which is then continuously formed with the continuous forming apparatus to produce a continuous form (50) having a constant cross-sectional shape transverse to a continuous forming direction of the continuous forming apparatus. A portion of the continuous form is then deformed to produce a preform (62), and the preform is cured within a restricted volume (60) to cause the preform to expand and produce the panel (10).

摘要： A wheel assembly for a small-scale machine includes a pair of opposing, individually driven wheels, associated motors and possibly one or more gear assemblies. The motors receive separate drive signals from a control electronics subsystem of the wheel assembly. The motors can be connected to the wheels via the gear assemblies. Because the wheels are separately driven, driving the two wheel assemblies at similar or different speeds drives the wheel assembly over straight or curved paths. An orientation assembly allows the orientation of the wheels to the machine to be controllably altered. A height adjusting assembly allows the distance between the wheels and a point on the machine where the wheel assembly is attached to be adjusted. The rotational axis that the wheel assembly rotates about when reoriented need not pass through either wheel of the wheel assembly. The wheels can be driven by control signals generated by on-board control electronics.

摘要： Spinal implants are disclosed that can be used for annular repair, facet unloading, disc height preservation, disc decompression, or for sealing a portal through which a nucleus implant was placed. In some embodiments, an implant is placed within the intervertebral disc space, primarily within the region of the annulus fibrosus. In some embodiments, the implant comprises a base structure onto which resilient anchor structures are affixed. In some embodiments, the implant comprises a base structure onto which resilient or elastomeric materials are affixed to provide an outer covering for at least a portion of the base structure. In some embodiments, the implant has a sealing tail structure comprising a tail flange and a connector. In some embodiments, the sealing tail structure limits the extrusion or expulsion of disc material, either annulus fibrosus or nucleus, into the posterior region of the spine where it could impinge on nerves. In some embodiments, the tail structure is retained in place within the annulus fibrosus by means of the anchor. In some embodiments, the implant is provided in a plurality of sizes to provide an optimal fit to an individual patient's anatomy. In some embodiments, the implant is delivered using a delivery system that comprises a hand manipulated instrument that is releasably affixed to the implant by a specialized coupler.
