    • A mechanism for the deployment of a filamentous endovascular device includes a flexible deployment tube having an open proximal end, and a coupling element attached to the proximal end of the endovascular device. The deployment tube includes a distal section terminating in an open distal end, with a lumen defined between the proximal and distal ends. A retention sleeve is fixed around the distal section and includes a distal extension extending a short distance past the distal end of the deployment tube. The endovascular device is attached to the distal end of the deployment tube by fixing the retention sleeve around the coupling element, so that the coupling element is releasably held within the distal extension of the deployment tube. In use, the deployment tube, with the implant attached to its distal end, is passed intravascularly through a microcatheter to a target vascular site until the endovascular device is located within the site. To detach the endovascular device from the deployment tube, a liquid is injected through the lumen of the deployment tube so as to apply pressure to the upstream side of the coupling element, which is thus pushed out of the retention sleeve by the fluid pressure. The coupling element may include an internal or peripheral purge passage that allows air to be purged from the microcatheter prior to the intravascular passage of the endovascular device.

    • The present breathing valve is comprised of a hollow tubular housing sized to fit snugly inside a nostril. The housing is provided with an external thread for screwing into the nostril. A turning tool is provided for screwing and unscrewing the housing by engaging the interior of the housing. An air flow restricting device is provided within the housing. In one embodiment, the restricting device is comprised of a constricted passage for reducing air flow and increasing air pressure within the respiratory system of the user. Oxygen absorption is improved enough by the increased air pressure to eliminate the need for supplemental oxygen for people at high altitudes, and for people with respiratory problems. In a second embodiment, the restricting device is comprised of a movable restricting device which is moved to an open position during inhale to allow free passage of air. The movable restricting device is moved to a partially closed position during exhale to restrict air flow and increase air pressure within the respiratory system of the user.

    • The present invention relates to a rapid exchange or single operator exchange catheter device comprising at least one elongated tubular member having an inner surface and an outer surface, a proximal and a distal end, and having an opening located between the proximal and the distal end. The inner surface of the elongated tubular member defines a guide member lumen and is at least occasionally subjected to contact with at least one guide member. The guide member lumen, including the opening or port for receiving the guide member, are filled with the lubricious material in accordance with the present invention. This method of filling the lumen eliminates the need for flushing the catheter device before and/or during surgical procedures to remove air and contaminants and provides a lubricant for easy maneuvering of the catheter over the guide member.
