摘要： A cast-aluminum engine block for a compression-ignition internal combustion engine includes a plurality of cylinders that are disposed in an in-line arrangement. The engine block includes a top portion including a top deck and a bottom portion including a plurality of main bearings that are disposed to support journals of a crankshaft. An integrated flow channel is formed between the second end and the last cylinder and proximal to the top deck, and is a continuous channel that passes from the first side to the second side through the portion of the engine block between the second end and the last cylinder and proximal to the top deck. A coolant passageway is disposed in the engine block between the integrated flow channel and the last cylinder, and is oriented parallel to the elevation axis.

摘要： A control apparatus of a premixed charge compression ignition engine that includes an engine body having a cylinder and intake and exhaust passages, and causes a mixture gas to self-ignite inside the cylinder is provided. The apparatus includes a fuel injector for injecting fuel into the cylinder, a water injector for injecting supercritical water or subcritical water into the cylinder, an EGR passage for communicating the exhaust and intake passages and recirculating, as EGR gas, a portion of an exhaust gas discharged from the cylinder to the intake passage, an EGR valve for adjusting an EGR gas recirculation amount, and a controller. The controller includes an engine load determining module for receiving a parameter and determining whether an engine operating state is a first state where the engine load is below a switch load or a second state where the engine load is the switch load or above.

摘要： Various methods and arrangements for improving fuel economy in decel fuel cut-off (DFCO) operation of an internal combustion engine are described. In one aspect, a catalytic converter bypass valve diverts the pumped air in DFCO mode from flowing through a catalytic converter. The diverted, pumped air may flow through a bypass line or be returned to the engine intake manifold through an exhaust gas recirculation return line. Another aspect of the invention relates to directing the diverted pumped air through an emission control device.

摘要： A control apparatus includes a control member performing a center position control to align a specific crank angle of an engine with EGR system, which angle is called as center position, with a reference position when the engine is driven under a predetermined range. The center position is a geometric center of a figure defined by a transition of heat generation ratio through fuel combustion. The control member runs an ignition acceleration procedure when the engine satisfies at least one of specific conditions during an exhaust gas recirculation under the center position control. The ignition acceleration procedure is to inject more fuel for a pilot injection than a base amount determined in accordance with the center position control. The specific conditions includes: a condition that an engine load is smaller than a threshold value; and a condition that an engine rotational speed is smaller than a threshold value.
