摘要： This specification discloses suspensions and method for making the suspensions. The suspension comprises a suspension medium and is loaded with an insoluble solid. The suspension medium is an aqueous solution made at least one soluble polymer and at least one thixotropic gum. The suspension medium can be loaded with high levels of solids (more than 15% by weight of the medium). The resulting suspension is highly stable and has low viscosity. In embodiments the suspension exhibits no significant sedimentation for at least 3 months, and has a viscosity of less than about 20,000 cP. In an illustrative embodiment, the suspensions may be used to improve the properties of corrugating adhesives by adding to a corrugating adhesive a suspension that has suspension medium comprising polyvinyl alcohol and gellan and that suspends unmodified high amylose starch.

摘要： A method of manufacturing an adhesive composition for use in the production of paperboard is provided. An amount of water contained within a source container is provided. The water is heated to a first temperature. A rheology modifier is added to the heated water to create a heated solution. A starch is added to the heated solution. The heated solution is mixed for a first period of time to create a heated mixture. Additionally, there may be more independent time segments determining an amount of time which the components of the heated solution are mixed or blended together. Additional elements of the adhesive composition are added to the heated mixture between each mixing time segment.

摘要： A non-porous composite is provided that includes a textile substrate impregnated with a first fluoropolymer and a film of polymeric material comprising at least one second fluoropolymer filled with porous particles of a silicate having a granulometric dimension d50 less than or equal to 5 μm and a porosity ranging from 30 to 60% in volume and loaded with antibacterial ions of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of silver, copper, zinc and nickel. A method for production of the composite and a containing and/or transport element for a fluid, preferably water, produced with the composite, are also provided.

摘要： The present invention relates to active and intelligent additives having hybrid characteristics, that are compatible with polymers, are thermally and mechanically stable, are capable of releasing electrons and/or photons in the presence of chemical compounds, specifically amino compounds, amide compounds, oxygen reducing compounds, water or vapors thereof. The active and intelligent additives incorporate themselves into polymer matrices allowing the obtainment of active and intelligent polymeric articles. These active and intelligent polymeric articles may act as inhibitors of growth of microorganisms and fungi, as well as indicators of the presence of gasses, either in the atmosphere or caused by the decomposition of foodstuffs, for example.

摘要： The invention concerns a polymeric antimicrobial composition, a method of producing the same and the uses thereof. The ionomer composition comprises an amine functional polymer compound reacted with silver halide, optionally together with a stabilizing component, such as an organic substance carrying a sulfonamide functional group. The ionomer composition can be obtained by reacting together (i) at least one polyamine and silver halide and optionally at least one organic stabilizer substance or; (ii) at least one polyamine, at least one non-halide silver salt or silver complex, hydrogen halide and/or alkaline metal halide salt and optionally at least one organic stabilizer substance. The present ionomer composition is suitable for use as an antimicrobial coating, antimicrobial finish, antimicrobial additive and as antimicrobial component for formation of new antimicrobial materials.

In addition, a method for applying the composition to the surface includes steps of providing the composition, a container, an article, and an electrical power source, then creating an electrolyte bath from the composition. Additional steps include setting a bath temperature, immersing the article into the bath, charging the bath and the article for a galvanic deposition of the composition onto the article, controlling the galvanic deposition for a selected time, and removing the article from the bath.
