摘要： A ceramic member includes a voltage supply rod capable of reducing a local temperature drop of the ceramic member. The ceramic member comprises a ceramic base, a metal body disposed inside the ceramic base, and a voltage supply rod made of an electrically conductive material and having a far end portion electrically connected to the metal body. The far end portion is located at an end of the voltage supply rod in a longitudinal direction. The voltage supply rod also includes a heat-transfer reducing portion continuous with the far end portion. The heat-transfer reducing portion has thermal conductivity k2 and a cross-sectional area A2 in a cross section taken perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction. The thermal conductivity k2 and the cross-sectional area A2 satisfy a formula k2·A2

摘要： A ceramic matrix composite member used as a turbine blade includes a principal part forming a blade part and a dovetail part, and a subordinate part forming a platform part. A principal fiber in a ceramic fiber fabric forming the principal part is a continuous fiber. An extension direction of the principal fiber is in parallel with a direction in which stress is applied. The ceramic fiber fabrics respectively forming the principal part and the subordinate part are joined together and formed into an integrated three-pronged fiber fabric. The ceramic fiber fabric forming the principal part and the ceramic fiber fabric forming the subordinate part are integrated together by being set into a mold with the ceramic fiber fabric forming the subordinate part folded at a desired angle to the ceramic fiber fabric forming the principal part. Then, a ceramic matrix is formed in the obtained molded body.

摘要： In an X-ray diffraction diagram of a cordierite sintered body of the present invention, the ratio of the total of the maximum peak intensities of components other than cordierite components to the peak top intensity of the (110) plane of cordierite is 0.0025 or less. Since having a significantly small amount of different phases other than the cordierite components, this cordierite sintered body has a high surface flatness when the surface thereof is mirror-polished.

摘要： A method for the repair of a heater, or an electrostatic chuck, using a ceramic top layer joined with a hermetically sealed joint. The heater or electrostatic chuck may be machined down to remove a damaged top surface, and to allow for the joining of a new top surface. The new top pieces may be aluminum nitride and the pieces may be brazed with an aluminum alloy under controlled atmosphere. The joint material is adapted to later withstand both the environments within a process chamber during substrate processing, and the oxygenated atmosphere which may be seen within the shaft of a heater or electrostatic chuck.

摘要： The invention refers to a method for applying heat resistant protection components onto the surface of a heat exposed component. The method including providing at least two separate heat protection components, and joining the at least two separate heat protection components onto their top surface and/or bottom surface and/or at least one side surface by flexible means for obtaining an integrally handable entity. The method further includes fixing the integrally handable entity by applying and brazing the surface of each heat protection component on the surface of the heat exposed component. The materials of the flexible means and for joining the flexible means on the separate heat protection components are selected such that the materials withstand brazing being performed under protective atmosphere, i.e. an atmosphere without or with reduced amount of oxygen, at process temperatures between 700° C. and 1200° C., and that the materials are burned out after brazing during a following oxidizing thermal step.

Also disclosed is an intraluminal device comprised of contiguous heterogeneous structural elements comprised of metallic members and non-metallic sections that are bonded together by a layer of phenoxy resin therebetween.

摘要： Reaction-brazing of tungsten or molybdenum metal bodies to carbonaceous supports enables an x-ray generating anode to be joined to a preferred lightweight substrate. Complementary surfaces are provided on a dense refractory metal body and a graphite or a carbon-carbon composite support. A particulate braze mixture comprising Hf or Zr carbide, Mo or W boride, Hf or Zr powder and Mo or W powder is coated onto the support surface, and hafnium or zirconium foil may be introduced between the braze mixture and the refractory metal body complementary surface. Reaction-brazing is carried out at or near the eutectic point of the components, which may be influenced to some extent by the presence of carbon and boride. Heating to about 1865° C. for a Mo/Hf combination creates a thin, dense, strong braze that securely joins the two bodies and creates a thin barrier of carbide and boride microphases near and along the interface with the carbon support that diminishes carbon diffusion into the metal body during extended exposures at elevated temperatures (above those presently used in x-ray tubes), even well above the eutectoid temperature.
