    • A spring (10), for a locking device of a vehicle seat, is designed as a yoke spring defining an axis (A) and made of a spring wire. A cross section diameter (q) has one leg (10a) on each of both ends of the spring wire. The two legs (10a) can pivot relative to each other in a circumferential direction of the axis (A), thereby transitioning the spring (10) from a relaxed state into a tensioned state. At least one first winding (10b) is provided between the legs (10a) that is wound completely around the axis (A) and having a winding diameter (di) in the relaxed state. At least one adjacent second winding (10b) is provided between the legs (10a) and disposed offset along by the axis (A) by a pitch (h), wherein the second winding (10b) may optionally be wound not fully about the axis (A). The second winding (10b) has a winding diameter (d2) in the relaxed state. The pitch (h) is less than the cross section diameter (q).

    • A control system for a seat having a base portion and a back portion is disclosed. The control system includes a holder coupled to the back portion. The control system includes a control pod removably and at least partially received within the holder. The control pod includes a body and at least one switch disposed on the body. The at least one switch is manually actuatable to control a corresponding component of the seat. The control pod is adapted to be moved between a storage position and a usage position. The control pod is at least partially received within the holder in the storage position. The control pod is outside and spaced apart form the holder in the usage position. The control system includes a cable tethering the seat and the control pod together.

    • A movable seat for a transit vehicle has a folding seat cushion that moves between a use position oriented to support a passenger and a storage position. The seat is supported by at least one pedestal that can be mounted in a vehicle for movement with respect to said vehicle, for example to provide space for a mobility aid. The pedestal has a locking mechanism and a lock activator that places the locking mechanism in a locked position to prevent movement the seat. The seat also has a release mechanism that in one orientation maintains the locking mechanism in a locked position and in a second orientation unlocks the locking mechanism and also prevents placement of the folding seat cushion to the use position when unlocked.
